Welcome to my Justask360 Web Log.  My purpose in developing this blog is to create a space, an environment, in which professionals, colleagues and friends can contribute their thoughts and ideas about organizational leadership in general or 360º feedback in particular.

I will be contributing to this blog at least weekly, probably daily, and I encourage you to share your comments as well.  I look forward to blogging with you.

Today I am launching my first web site.  It’s amazing that I have been in the consulting business for 31 years, web log technology has been in vogue for over 15 years and I am just starting a web site.  Our 22-month old granddaughter has a web site.  It’s about time her grandfather had one.

This web site is created primarily for my clients, individuals and organizations that are utilizing the 360º feedback process.  The site is designed to provide information and techniques to assist individuals in following up on their feedback reports.  Many reports and surveys report that the more frequently individuals follow up with others on their feedback, the more they improve their behavior and the more they are perceived as improving their leadership effectiveness.  I guide individuals in organizations in addressing the most important part of the 360º feedback process, addressing the issue of, “Now that I have my feedback, what do I do with it? How do I make the changes people are asking me to make?”

The follow-up action plan I recommend involves the manager going back to the people who filled out the questionnaire and meeting with each, one-on-one, asking for suggestions on how to improve in the areas in which they want to improve.  The suggestions they receive become the specific steps in the manager’s action plan.  Thus, others in the organization participate in the development and implementation of the manager’s plan.  These discussions continue periodically throughout the year.

Please let me know what your thoughts are regarding the process of following up on feedback.  To what extent do you do have a follow-up process in your organization?  What has been your experience with the follow-up process?
